George H's Story.
George Brandreth was born in Toft, Knutsford in 1899, the son of George (a carter) and Ellen Brandreth of 34, Silk Mill Street, Knutsford. The later moved to Church Hill, Knutsford,
George enlisted in the 1/5th Battalion of the Manchester Battalion, becoming Private no. 57098.
George was wounded and discharged from the army as being medically unfit on the 22nd April 1918.
He died at home on the 30th August 1919.
