Albert's Story.

  Albert was born in Clotton, Cheshire on the 5th August 1897. He lived with his father John, a farm labourer, and his stepmother Elizabeth at Hoofield, Tarporley, Cheshire. He had 3 brothers, William, Joseph & Richard and 2 sisters, Lucy & Elsie.
   Albert enlisted in Chester on the 12th December 1915. He embarked at Southampton on the 12th September 1917. He joined the Infantry  Base Depot at Rouen on the 14th September 1917. He suffered  gun shot wounds to his head, arm & thigh on the 9th May 1918. He died of his wounds on the 11th May 1918 at No3 Casualty Clearing Station. He is buried at Bagneux British Cemetery, Gezaincourt, Dept De La Somme, France.  I B10.
