George's Story.
Born Salford, enlisted Manchester. Son of Samuel and Mary Lawton of 48, Charles Street, Crewe and was formerly a machinist. Enlisted on September 1, 1914 and went to France on May 19, 1915. He is listed as Private and Manchester Regiment on the Crewe War Memorial.
