Dies of Wounds

The sad news has been conveyed to the widowed mother and young wife of Pte. Peter Howell that he has died of wounds received in action on 19th April, at the Base Hospital, France. Pte. Peter Howell, who was in his 29th year, joined the Royal Field Artillery in 1916, and was for some time in training at Preston. He left for the scene of hostilities some few months ago. Deceased had been in the grocery business practically since leaving school. For some years he was manager for Pegram’s Ltd., at their Old Chester Road branch. He had resided with his wife and mother at 37, Downham Road, Tranmere.
