“DIED A BRAVE DEATH.”
The death in action is announced Pte. John Roberts, of Queen Alexandra’s Own Regiment (Hussars), who previous to joining the army six years ago resided with his parents at 117, Grange Road, Birkenhead. He had been wounded twice before, and met his death by the explosion of a shell. His officer in a sympathetic letter to Mrs. Roberts says that “he was one of the best men and died a brave death.” Pte. Roberts before enlisting was employed at the works of Messrs. Cammell Laird and Co.
