Sidney's Story.

Sidney Burgess was born in 1899 at Mere, Cheshire, one of three children born to Henry (a farmer) and Emily Burgess of Park Gate Farm, Mere, Knutsford.

He enlisted in the army becoming Gunner no. 230409 of the 51^st battery of the 39^th Brigade of the Royal Field Artillery.
He died of wounds on the 23rd September 1918.
