OXTON MACHINE GUNNER KILLED.

News has been received that Private Charles C. Todd, of the Machine Gun Corps, was killed in France on Oct. 26, 1917. He was educated at the Woodchurch Higher Grade School, and joined the 4th Cheshires when the war was declared. Later he was transferred to the 5th Cheshires, and was drafted to France in 1915.

He was wounded and invalided home, and on recovery placed in the Machine Gun Corps in which he was serving when he met his death. He was the son of Mrs. Margaret and the late Charles Todd, of 12, James Street, Oxton, Birkenhead.
