Birkenhead News 19 May 1917Birkenhead Victim of Torpedoing.
Mrs. Ollerhead, of 107, Camden Street, has received official intimation that her husband, Mr. A. Ollerhead, third engineer on board the ss Feltria, has died of exposure in a lifeboat subsequent to the torpedoing of the ship. Mr Ollerhead was only 28 years of age, and had previously been saved from the Ivernia, which he joined when she was a transport ship and a prison ship. With that vessel he remained until she was torpedoed. He remained on board two hours after she was struck, and was then taken on to a trawler. Mr. Ollerhead had also been on the Lusitania, which he left prior to her being sunk. He had been with the Cunard Line since he was out of his apprenticeship. His only child is only but 12 months old. Deepest sympathy is extended to Mrs. Ollerhead in her very sad bereavement.
