“A PROMISING CAREER CUT SHORT.”
Mrs. Morris, Queens Hotel, Park Road East, has received the official intimation of the death in action of her son, Sapper William Morris, of the Royal Engineers. Sapper Morris was a favourite amongst all, both in civil life and also whilst serving the colours on account of his cheery disposition. Whilst in France he was a member of a “chance” concert party. Previous to his enlistment the late soldier held a position with a London firm of designers, where he showed every promise of a successful career. The deceased soldier was struck by a shell on June 12th, his wounds proving fatal. His many friends will sympathise with his sorrowing mother.
