Well Known Footballer Killed.

Private J. L. Myers of the South Lancs. Regt., who before joining the Army lived with his parents at 99, Corporation Road, was killed in action on August 29th, aged 28 years. His many friends will regret to hear of this sad occurrence as he was a favourite in various social circles. In times of peace he was a prominent and well-known player in the Wirral Football League. He was educated at Our Lady’s School, and before the outbreak of war worked at Cammell Laird’s as a boilermaker. He enlisted in August, 1914 and went to France in September 1915.
