Henry James's Story.

Birkenhead News 08 February 1919

Bromborough Soldier Dies a Prisoner.

The sad news has just been received from the War Office of the death of Pte. Henry James Bawdon, 49433, 10th Cheshires, who has been in the hands of the Germans since April, 1918. His parents with whom he resided grew very anxious about his safety, no news being heard of him, after June the same year. They have unsuccessfully tried to get information. The War Office now states that he died on the 12th July. His parents reside at No. 26, Rake Lane, Bromborough, and would be grateful if any returned prisoner from the camp at Tournai could enlighten them regarding the circumstances of his death.
