Birkenhead News  13 July 1918

BROMBOROUGH VILLAGE COMRADE KILLED.

News has been received of the death of Lance-Corpl. Charles Roscoe, A Company, 17th Corps Cyclist Batt. He was reported to have been seriously wounded and died in a casualty clearing station four days afterwards. He had many exciting experiences which he related when home on leave last, his period of service having been a lengthy one. He joined the colours in the September the year war broke out with the Sunlight Battalion, where he was employed, and then transferred to the above. He was always a regular church goer and greatly respected by all whom he came into contact with; indeed he set a splendid example of sobriety and uprightness and proved a very brave and fearless soldier.
