Birkenhead News  20 September 1916

One of the Gloucesters.

Private T. Pennington Killed.

News has been received by Mr. and Mrs. J. Pennington, of 209, New Chester Road, New Ferry, that their son, Pte. Thos. Pennington was killed in action during and attack of July 19th.

He joined the Cheshires in the early days of the war but was transferred to the Gloucester Regt., in which he was serving when he met his death. He was 22 years of age, and before joining the Army was employed at Price’s Candle Works. His many friends will mourn the loss of a comrade whom they all liked and respected.
