LOST HIS LIFE IN THE NAVY
Mr. and Mrs. Cook of 52, Patten Street have received official intimation that their youngest son, Stoker Percy Cook, lost his life in action on one of H.M.S. ships on Feb 11th. Prior to the outbreak of war Stoker Cook was in the employ of Messrs. Alfred Holt and was for two years in the Marines Reserve. Since the outbreak of war he has been serving on H.M. transports, and has been mentioned in despatches for bravery. Stoker Cook was very well known in the town, having for a time been employed at Grayson’s and educated at St Anne’s School. He resided at 52 Patten Street. Much sympathy will be extended to the bereaved relatives.
