Norman's Story.

Private Norman Atherton M2/333573 was born in the early summer of 1898, the son of Joseph Atherton (1861–1928) and Sarah Capper (1864–1951), and brother of Herbert, Gertrude, Gerald, Mildred and Louisa. He grew up at 5 Magdala Place, Northwich and attended the Victoria Road School in Northwich.. He died in hospital at Southport, aged 19. He was not married.

Norman's brother Gerald was to die in 1920.
