SOLDIER’S DEATH FROM PNEUMONIA.

The death is announced of Private G. Sherlock, which took place in France on Oct. 27th from pneumonia. The deceased was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Sherlock, 1, Moreton Road, Upton, who have had five sons serving in the forces. Pte. Sherlock joined the Denbighshire Hussars in September, 1915, and was later transferred to the Royal Welsh Fusiliers, being a runner to his battalion, having served over two years in France. George was an eager soldier, for although he was rejected twice, he was determined to take his share in the great struggle for right and succeeded at the third attempt. In his younger days he was a member of the Parish Church Choir, and a bellringer. He had been through a deal of hard fighting, and was eventually badly gassed in the front line, to which cause he succumbed. Such a useful and loyal citizen will be sadly missed.
