James's Story.
Birkenhead News 27 November 1918ANOTHER BIRKONIAN’S GLORIOUS DEATH.
The official intimation of the death of her husband, Pte. James Jones, has been transmitted to Mrs. Jones, of 9, Fox Street, Birkenhead. Pte. Jones, who leaves also two children, joined the Royal Welsh Fusiliers at the outbreak of hostilities, and was wounded for the first time in October, 1916. On recovery he was sent to France, where he was again wounded on the 4th inst., and died subsequently at a General Hospital in France on the 14th inst. Previous to enlistment he was employed by the China Company in Birkenhead for some time, and received his education at St. Peter’s School. He had a brother, Pte. Frederick Jones, who also died of wounds, on September 27th, 1917
