Birkenhead News 16 October 1918NEW FERRY SOLDIER DIES OF DYSENTERY.
Official news of the death on the 28th ult. From dysentery in a general hospital in Salonika of Corporal G. M. Dutton has been received by his wife, who with her three children lives at 17, Egerton Road, New Ferry. The late soldier joined the Cheshire Regt. on August 14th, 1917, and had been in Salonika for about 8 months.
He had been in the employ of the Mersey Weaver Carrying Company for 25 years, and was also well known as secretary of the West Cheshire Harriers, a position he had held for some years. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Dutton, live at 526, Old Chester Road, and by his death have lost their only son.
