Ronald's Story.
Sapper Ronald Rigby died in a road accident in the UK whilst home on a month's leave. The car in which he was a passenger plunged in to the River Weaver and only those in the front of the car were able to escape - his brother-in-law and his father. Three people were killed, including his stepsister Florence.
Ronald was born on 23rd September 1918, the son of Arthur Patrick Rigby and Hannah nee Vickers, who lived at 6, School Rd, Meadow Bank in Winsford. The newspaper report described him as one of Montgomery's Desert Rats. He was engaged to Miss Nancy Jackson.
