Samuel's Story.

Samuel in 1916 before with his wife, Edith and their two children, Albert and Gwen.

Samuel embarked for France 25 September 1915. He was wounded a few times. His casualty card shows he suffered from shell shock 28 April, 1916. This was followed by a sharpnel wound to one of his fingers.




On 28 August 1918 was wounded in the left arm. Samuel in his hospital blues with Edith in 1918.


In 1921 Samuel and his family lived at 16 Sandfield Road, Higher Bebington. He returned to work at Lever Brothers at Port Sunlight. In 1921 they had three children Albert 12, Gwen 8, and Cyril 1.

One of the last pictures. Samuel on the left at Alberts wedding in August 1933, taken six months before he passed away.
