Killed at Ypres.

A CANADIAN READER OF THE “NEWS.”

Mrs. J. W. D. Allison (nee Annie Newhouse) now of London, Ontario, Canada, notifies us of the death of Corpl. Fred Newhouse, of the Cheshire Regt., who was killed on the first day of the battle of Ypres, after having fought in the battles of Mons, the Marne, the Aisne, etc. He was the youngest son of the late Matthew Newhouse, of Bidston, and of Mrs. Newhouse, now residing with her daughter in Canada. Corpl. Newhouse served for some years in Canada, where the photograph we reproduce was taken. Mrs. Allison adds that although in Canada she “is still a constant reader of the good old ‘News.’”
