LOCAL SAPPER’S DEATH.
The official notification of the death in a Malta hospital of Sapper W. H. Turner, of the Cheshire Field Co. R.E., has been received by his wife, who resides at 77, Cleveland Street, Birkenhead. Sapper Turner, who was 29 years of age, enlisted soon after the outbreak of war, and after training in this country left for the Dardanelles on the 18th July. He had only been at the front a short time when he contracted dysentery. He was removed to the General Hospital, Malta, where he died, as stated above, on September 16th. He leaves a widow and two young children to mourn his loss.
