Walter Leonard's Story.

Walter Leonard Blunt was born in Vancouver  on 21st September 1921 to parents Oscar and Bettie. Prior to enlisting he worked as a labourer in a plywood factory. He enlisted in the RCAF on 11th September 1942 and trained as an air bomber in Canada before transferring to UK for active duty arriving on 14th March 1944. He was assigned to 83 OTU and was pronounced missing on 23rd July 1944 when the Wellington aircraft serial LP567 that he was flying in failed to return from a training mission. He was pronounced dead on 15th August 1944 when his body washed up on the shoreline of North Wales. The cause of the accident was never determined.
