Ralph William's Story.

Ralph William Bartlett was born on 12th August 1918 in London, Ontario Canada. After school he worked as a clerk from 1935 until he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Airforce in June 1942. He completed training as a Navigator in Canada before sailing to UK where he arrived on 30th October 1943. He was assigned to 26 OTU in March 1944 for training in Wellington bombers. Ralph was killed on 16th May 1944 whilst on a training mission when the Wellington bomber HF519 he was flying in dived into the ground from approximately 10,000 feet in North Wales killing all 5 crew on board. The cause of the accident was never determined. Ralph was buried at Blacon Cemetery near Chester.
