January the 17th 1917
Quiet During the day our aeroplanes were active. Work on the trenches continued. Enemy snipers very troublesome and hampered our work. A covering party (to digging party) was sent out at 6.45 pm and came under heavy fire.
Artillery support was called for but No result followed. Digging was continue and total casualties BO wounded 1 BOR Killed 8 wounded.
Accidental BOR 3 owing to a bombing accident whilst clear Bombs. Remaining on the night quiet.
January the 18th 1917
Quiet start to the day. No enemy planes observed. Our planes were active.
Any snipers at night were from the same a *** and a patrol sent out we try and locate them. Digging party continued and the casualties were BOR 1 Quiet night on the whole.
