Amos's Story.

Amos was born in Barnton, Northwich in 1890, second son of John and Ellen Summerfield, the family moved to Cheadle in the early 1900's and by 1911 they were residing in Cherry Lane, Lymm.
He was educated at Lymm Parochial school and attended the Primitive Methodist Church, Cherry Lane, Lymm.  After leaving school he was was first employed as a chimney sweep along with his father, before being employed at the Partington Steel & Iron Works.
He enlisted on 14th May 1917, after completing his training he was posted to France in February 1918.
He was wounded on 17th September 1918 and lost a leg, he died from his wounds on 14th October 1918 aged 28.
