James's Story.

James was born in 1897, the 3rd and younget son of William and Maria Jennings of 17 Moston Street, Newfield, Lymm.
In civilian life he was employed at Irlam Steel Works and was a member of the local Lads Club.

He enlisted in Eccles in 1915 and was in the Machine Gun Corps attached to the Manchester Regiment and had been at the front since March 1917.

He was seriously wounded by gunshot 3 weeks prior to his death and died in hospital on 10th June 1917 aged 20 years.
