John Arthur Wood's Story.
Born 29 June 1915 son of Arthur and Ada, (nee Wood), Warrington, of Wood House Farm, Green Lane, Poynton, (known now as the Boars Head).
John was killed, Wednesday, 31 March 1943, aged 27 years.
Whilst flying a Wellington VIII, HX450, of No 7, O.T.U. ( C- Coastal Command Training Unit) which ditched of Portrush, Northern Ireland following an engine failure.
