Frank's Story.

Birkenhead News  16 November 1918

SAD FATE OF LOCAL MAN.

The sad tidings have been conveyed to Mrs. Dickinson, of 11, St. Anne’s Terrace, that her husband, Pte. Frank Dickinson, of the Cheshire Regt., was killed in action in France on the 14th Oct. 1918. Pte. F. Dickinson joined H.M. Forces on March 22nd, 1917, and on the completion of his training he was sent to the East and went through Egypt and Palestine. He was subsequently drafted to France on Sept. 5th, and was last home on leave on Sept. 15th. Previous to enlistment he was employed by the City Line as a dock labourer. He attended St. Anne’s School as a boy.

He lies amongst his comrades
In a hallowed grave unknown,
But his name is written in letters of love
On the hearts he left at home.
From his loving Wife and all at St. Anne’s Terrace.
