Young Sailor’s Death
Fred Ashby (17), was on Wednesday removed from Messrs. Cammell Laird and Co’s. Yard to the Borough Hospital suffering from internal injuries caused by falling from the mast of a battleship on to the deck, a distance of 80 feet. There were no bones broken, but the internal injuries were very severe. His condition was practically hopeless, and he gradually sank, dying the following evening.
