Robert Campbell's Story.
Robert Campbell Adair was the youngest of five children born to Peter Monteith Adair (a house painter) and Elisabeth (a grocer) in 1897. They resided at Crowley, Great Budworth.
He enlisted in the army in mid-1916, joining the Royal Field Artillery as Driver 117494 of the 100th Brigade Ammunition Company.
Robert died of malaria on the 17th July 1918.
