Alfred's Story.
Private Alfred Stringer Killed.
Official intimation has been received by Mrs Cotton, the heath, Sandbach, of the death of her adopted son, private Alfred Stringer, of the 7th Cheshire regiment, who was killed in action in the Dardanelles on the 18th of September. Mrs Cotton had not heard from her soldier son since he went to the Dardanelles, private Stringer was 18 years of age, and he joined the Sandbach detachment about a year ago. Prior to this he was employed by Mr. J. W. Maskrey, a flour and corn dealer of Sandbach. Private Stringer's name has been entered on the Roll of Honour which is being prepared by Rev. C.E. Mucklestone vicar of Sandbach Heath.
