KILLED IN ACTION.

Mrs. Finnegan of 19 William Street, has received official intimation of the death in action of her husband, Pte. E. Finnegan, on August 20th. He was the first in Birkenhead to join the Bantams in November 1915. Previously he had been employed at Messrs. Mackie and Gladstone, Hamilton Street, for 15 years. He was highly respected, being of a kind and genial disposition. His commanding officer writes to Mrs. Finnegan :- “Your husband was a fine type of British soldier, and has always been steady, thoroughly reliable, and never complained.”
