Isaac Herber's Story.
Herber Isaac Davies was born circa 1897 in Saltney, Flintshire. He was the son of Edward & Margaret Jane Davies (nee Lewis) who were married in a Civil Ceremony at Chester in 1889. (ROC/2561)
On the 1901 census they were living at Boundary(sic) Lane, Saltney, (Hawarden) Saltney-cum-Lache, Flintshire with Herber Isaac's Grandfather, Isaac Davies, 68, a widower, who was a Timekeeper man born in Henllan, Denbighshire. Edward, 40 was a Foreman (Blacks) and wife Margaret Jane, 39 had both been born in Chester, Cheshire, as had their eldest son John William 11. Sons Edward Howell, 10, Albert, 8 and Isaac Herver, 4 had been born in Saltney, Flintshire. Margaret Jane's mother, Lydia Lewis, 74 and a widow had been born in Yscifiog, Flintshire.
British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920 about Isaac H Davies tells us that his first Theatre of War was France and he entered it on the 4th October 1915. It also tells us that he was discharged on the 11th October 1918.
I believe that Isaac Herber was discharged from the Army and then succumbed to illness or his army service in the December Quarter of 1918, he died very young, age 21. His death is registered in Hawarden (HAW/11A/76).
If his death certificate shows this then he can be brought "in from the cold" and be added to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission database. They need proof that he died through his war service.
The probability was that he succumbed to the Flu epidemic that was seeping through the world and especially Flintshire in 1918/1919.
His also named on the North Wales Memorial Arch Panels in Bangor.
