Charles's Story.
Born Coppenhall, enlisted Nantwich. Commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey (Addenda panel) and the Crewe War Memorial and Coppenhall Lychgate. Son of William Nightingale of 13, Broad Street, Crewe. Pupil of Broad Street Boys School, and was a former apprentice engine fitter in the Fitting Shop (Steel Works), Crewe. Landed at “C” Beach, Suvla Bay on August 8/9, 1915.
