John Thomas's Story.
Born Didsbury, enlisted Crewe. Son of Samuel and Ruth Mason of Didsbury and husband of Mary Mason of 4, Forge Street, Crewe. Formerly employed in the LNWR Estate Department at Crewe as a labourer. Landed at Suvla Bay on August 6, 1915. Originally reported as missing, but not reported as killed in action until August 1916.
