PATTEN STREET FAMILY BEREAVED.

Lance-Corporal Barlow Dies of Wounds.

Mr. and Mrs. Barlow, 59, Patten Street, Birkenhead, have received the sad news of the death of their son, Lance-Corpl. George Barlow, Maxim Gun Section of the 4th Cheshires who died from wounds at Alexandria Hospital. He had been with the 4th Cheshire four years, and had won the Maxim gun badge. Previous to joining the Cheshires he was in the Boy Scouts as drummer and also belonged to the Brassey Street Boys’ Brigade, where he was well liked, and won the First Aid medal. He was last employed by Messrs. J. Rank Ocean Flour Mills. He was educated at Laird Street council school, and was 20 years of age last August. The news of his death is deeply regretted by his relatives and friends, by whom he was so well liked.
