Alexander's Story.
Alexander had been born in Stockport, the family home being at 20 Gradwell Street, King Street West. He enlisted in Stockport; his service number suggesting that this was in early 1916. He is believed to have been seriously wounded in the early stages of the Battle of the Lys.
