Arthur's Story.
Died in Hospital.
Private Arthur Pownall.
Private Arthur Pownall, of the Manchester Regiment, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Pownall, Haughton Moss, Tarporley, had died from acute bronchitis in hospital at the front. He was 23 years of age and enlisted in the Yeomanry on August 5, 1914. He subsequently transferred to the infantry, and went to the front four months ago, since when he has been through a good deal of fighting. Before the war he was employed in the fitting shop of the L. and N. W. Railway works, Crewe.
Private Pownall was a smart, young soldier and was well respected.
