William Henry's Story.
William was born in Cheadle, Manchester in 1885 son of John Henry and Mary Cooke.He attended Central School Manchester and worked for many years as a wharehouseman for R Gooders Ltd., Manchester. He volunteered for service as a volunteer in the Boer War and then enlisted into the Manchester Regiment in November 1914.
He was married to Norah Muriel Lockyer, whose father Fred Lockyer was a local councillor for Statham in Lymm, and they had 1 daughter Madge.
He died on 9th October from wounds to his body aged 32.
