Ernest Leopold's Story.
Ernest attested 24 February 1916, he was mobilized 22 March 1916 and posted to the 10th battalion South Lancashire Regiment. His enlistment papers give his address as 13 Nicholas Street Chester. Ernest age 37, was working as Gents outfitters assistant.
He died of pneumonia 20 April 1916, at Prees Heath, Whitchurch, 36 days after joining. His father William, lived at Sutton-on-Trent, Newark. He was with Ernest at the time of his death.
