Harold Edwin's Story.

HOLMES CHAPEL.
KILLED IN ACTION.

Mr. and Mrs. Veale, of Cranage, have received word this week that their son, Gunner H. E. Veale, age 20, of the Royal Field Artillery, has been killed in action. In a letter to his parents, the sergeant of his company states that he was hit by a piece of shell, and was killed instantly. This occurred on the 25th July, after two years' active service. Previous to enlistment Gunner Veale was employed as footman to Lord Emmott.
