Mrs. Topping, whose home is at 87, Oliver Street, has received the official notification of the death on October 4th of her son Pte. Herbert Topping, of the Cheshires. Pte. Topping joined the Army two years ago and was drafted to France in May of last year. He was twice wounded and gassed. Prior to joining the Army he was employed at Messrs. Cammell Laird’s shipbuilding yard. The deceased soldier was just 22 years of age.
