Ronald Chatterton's Story.

A GALLANT YOUNG SOLDIER
Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Soper have been the recipients of sad news concerning their younger son Private Ronald Chatterton Soper (Roy), who died on April 21st in hospital from wounds received in action, Pte Soper, who was just 20 years of age, was the grandson of the late Rev R. G. Soper M.A., of Oxton, and of the late Mr. Wm. Fulton, one of the five gentleman who assisted so considerably in bringing about the incorporation of Birkenhead. He was attached to the Cheshire Regt., having joined upon the declaration of war, when he was 17 years of age. He was an old boy of Tranmere Higher Grade School, and was well-known in Higher Tranmere, where he resided with his parents at 40, Allcot Avenue. Mr. and Mrs. Soper have another son with the colours, Sergt. R. F. W. Soper, who is attached to the King’s (Liverpool) Regiment, T.F. Mr. and Mrs. Soper’s friends will join in sympathising with the bereaved parents, who have the knowledge that their son was a very gallant soldier.
