George's Story.

Heswall Man Killed.
Mrs. George Sillitoe, Hillside, Heswall, has received official news from the War Office that her husband, Private George Sillitoe, Cheshire Regiment has been killed in action whilst fighting in France. His Captain writes to Mrs Sillitoe as follows; “I regret very much you have to tell you that your husband was killed in action on the 19th inst. (July). He was buried on the field of action where he was killed in carrying out his duties as a soldier. I am sorry to write and convey this sad news to you, but, if it is any consolation to know we all share your loss and offer you our sincerest sympathy. Thomas Palmer, Capt.”
Private Sillitoe, who before joining up was in the employ of Messrs. Jones and Hough, leave a widow and two children to mourn his loss. One of the children gained the first prize a few weeks ago at the Heswall Baby Show. Much sympathy has been expressed to the widow on her loss.
