Robert's Story.

St. Marys Weaverham “Roll of Honour” records three lads named Redford, J. Redford, R. (Robert) Redford and W. Redford. Robert Redford is also named on the “Fallen” Memorial. These lads are brothers. See separate story for W. & J. Redford.

From the Census information it looks like father, Robert, worked for B. M. & Co. Did the son, Robert? Checking the B. M. & Co. R.o.H., the Winnington Works section of the booklet records a Robert Redford, Pte., 16th Cheshire, “Presumed Dead.” Robert will be remembered on the main B. M. & Co. Memorial at Winnington.
 
C.W.G.C. record only one Robert Redford, he was with the 16th Bn. Cheshire Regiment, Service No 316012 (There is reference to a secondary Unit “attd. 12th Entrenching Bn.”), he died on Saturday 23rd March 1918, remembered at POZIERES MEMORIAL, France.  (Unfortunately there are no reference to his family or an address.)
 
N.A.M.C. - have one card for a Redford Robert, with the Cheshire Regiment, No 316012 Private. Awarded British and Victory medals, Theatre of War and Date of Entry not addressed.
