Jack's Story.

Jack was born in 1898 in Garstang, eldest son of J R and Rhianna Porter, they later relocated to Holly Bank, Broomedge, Lymm, his father being a native of High Legh, Lymm
He initally enlisted at Altrincham with the East Surrey Regiment, service number 102976 later transferring to the Lancashire Fusilliers.
He was killed in action on 2nd October 1918 aged 20 and is buried in France.
