KILLED BY A SHELL.

Mr. and Mrs. Parker, of 252a, Price Street, have received the news of the death of their younger son, Seaman Charles Parker, of the Royal Naval Division. In a letter to the bereaved parents the deceased sailor’s officer writes :- “Your son was killed by a shell which struck the side of the tent where he and seven of his friends were sitting. He and one other were killed instantaneously.”
Seaman Parker was an ‘old boy’ of St. Peter’s School. He was just 19 years of age at the time of his death, and had only been in France seven weeks. He joined the Royal Naval Division in June of this year.
