Birkenhead News 29 June 1918BEBINGTON FAMILY’S SAD BEREAVEMENT.
Mr. and Mrs W. Millington, of No. 12, Mill Terrace, Higher Bebington, have this week suffered a sad bereavement in the death of the eldest of their two sons, Pte. William Millington. The latter, who was nineteen years of age was educated at the Higher Bebington Council School. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church – and choir – and had been employed in the joinery department at Messrs. Cammell Lairs and Co.’s works. Joining up on June 6th last young Millington was sent to the Welsh Guards at Caterham in Kent. On Sunday last he was admitted into hospital seriously ill and died on Thursday morning. Intelligence as to the cause of death has not yet been received by his parents. To the latter deep sympathy has been extended by all who knew them, all the more so by reason of the fact that only about three months ago they lost by death their young daughter, leaving now in the home circle only a son aged fourteen years.
