John James's Story.

Son of John Henry and Mary Ann Lightfoot of 28, Market Terrace, Crewe and husband of Edith Lightfoot of 10, Carson Street, Liverpool. Worked as a porter on Liverpool Lime Street Station before enlisting on June 10, 1913. Formerly served in the 2nd Cheshire Royal Engineers (Railway) Volunteers (Jan. 14, 1907 - May 24, 1911) and enlisted in the 9th King’s Liverpool Regiment on May 10, 1913. Joined the 1/8thLancashire Fusiliers on September 10, 1914. Landed in Egypt on September 24, 1914.
